Michael Ruiz shares how event styling unleashes his creativity, hones his organizational skills, and brings dreams to life.

For Michael Ruiz, witnessing the joy and amazement on people’s faces as they step into a perfectly orchestrated event is the most rewarding feeling ever. “I’ve always been that person who loves creating captivating and magical experiences for others,” he shares with Lifestyle Asia.
“Whether it’s transforming a blank space into a breathtaking venue or curating a remarkable event, the thrill of bringing people together and making their moments unforgettable is what fuels my passion!”
UNCOVERING HIS GENUINE CALLING
Having been in the event styling industry for more than a decade now, it’s evident that he still has just as much—or even more—passion as when he first started. In 2010, he started working as a florist and three years later, he incorporated the business under the brand Michael Ruiz Events Styling.
But before becoming an event stylist, Ruiz got his start in the wedding industry as a coordinator. This allowed him to learn all the basics and gain invaluable knowledge about every aspect of creating unforgettable events. From experiencing the environment firsthand, he realized that this was the right path for him.
Whenever he embarks on new projects, Ruiz always puts his clients first. “When you strive to make your clients satisfied and happy, it’s a game-changer! Their happiness becomes the fuel that drives your success, and their satisfaction becomes the badge of honor you wear proudly,” he says.
The stylist strives to always bring his best work to the fore. He is continuously learning about and refining his craft, producing excellent results. Perhaps coming from his background as a coordinator, Ruiz puts an emphasis on discipline and adhering to timelines. “A proactive approach fuels success! Remember, when you put your heart into every task, you create lasting connections and open doors to greater opportunities.”
Throughout his years in the industry, Ruiz has discovered that he loves creating timeless and classic looks that leave a lasting impression. “I’ve always aimed to strike the perfect balance between creativity and elegance, ensuring that every event I style is a masterpiece carefully curated with fine artistry,” he adds.
OF BOUNDLESS OPPORTUNITIES
When asked what has been the most rewarding aspect of the work he does, Ruiz answers that it’s witnessing the happiness of his clients. “It’s an amazing feeling to see my clients’ faces light up when they see their visions come to life. The satisfaction I derive from my work is truly unparalleled.”
At the same time, he always treasures his staff’s elevated morale. Having a capable team is a necessity in the wedding industry because according to Ruiz, one of the biggest challenges these days is having just a short amount of time to set up everything that’s been meticulously planned. “Time flies when you’re having a blast creating magic!”
