Beyoncé and Jay-Z bought a $200 million mansion created by a renowned architect who also designed a home for Kanye West.
One of the most successful performers of their generation, Beyoncé and her husband Jay-Z bought a 40,000 square foot residence in Malibu. The massive mansion is a Californian oasis, as it’s just a few steps from the Pacific Ocean.

Its impressive price makes it the most expensive home to have ever been sold in California. The couple purchased the mansion from some of the largest art collectors in the world, William Bell Jr. and Maria Bell.
The abode was designed by Pritzker-winning Tadao Ando, a globally-respected architect. According to its contractors, the mansion took 15 years to erect.
The home features the Bells’ private art collection and utilizes 7,645 cubic yards of concrete.
Spread across eight acres overlooking the ocean, the Pacific Cove estate boasts expansive gray-toned hallways and floor-to-ceiling glass walls.
Outside, one can find manicured lawns, two glistening swimming pools, and an inviting patio. As the deal was handled off-market, little information concerning the house’s features have been publicly released.
Ando has designed more than a few notable private residences throughout his career, including Tom Ford’s $75 million Cerro Pelon Ranch in New Mexico. He’s also working on a Palm Springs pad for Kim Kardashian.
The architect also helped Kanye West remodel his home after it had stalled and fallen into disrepair according to The Daily Mail.
The valuable mansion is just the newest property in Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s epic real estate portfolio. In 2017, the music power couple bought a Bel-Air mansion for $88 million and invested millions more into the home, raising its worth to $100 million today.
