Johnny Depp is embracing the scent of success with the biggest men’s fragrance deal of all time.
The French fashion house and cosmetics giant Dior is strengthening its relationship with Johnny Depp.
The Edward Scissorhands star has signed a three-year deal estimated to be worth a whopping $20M, marking it as the biggest men’s fragrance pact ever.

This deal surpasses that of Robert Pattinson’s with Dior Homme ($12 million), as well as Brad Pitt’s pact to promote Chanel No. 5 ($7 million).
Depp has been the face of Dior Sauvage since 2015, with an ad campaign that portrayed him as a wild rockstar.
The extension of this partnership could be linked to Depp’s success as the fragrance’s ambassador. Bernard Arnault, CEO of Dior’s parent company LVMH, reported during a January financial presentation that Dior Sauvage was a leader in fragrance sales.
“Achieving remarkable success…driven by the image of Johnny Depp.” Arnault also shared that the fragrance exhibited a strong growth in popularity.
Warm Reception
After months of hiatus, Depp made a surprise appearance at the MTV Video Music Awards, with his face edited onto a moon person hovering above the crowd.
In November, Depp walked the runway as Rihanna’s special guest in the Savage x Fenty fashion show.
Last month, it was announced that Depp will play King Louis XV in the period piece Jeanne du Barry—his first big-screen role since his hiatus.
On Tuesday, May 16, the Cannes Film Festival red carpet sprang to life with the premiere of Depp’s aforementioned period drama.
This comeback was welcomed with an enthusiastic, seven-minute standing ovation. Depp received thunderous applause from fans when he showed up on the red carpet outside the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès.
Depp held back tears as the crowd cheered; surprised by the audience’s overwhelming response, he raised his hand towards the venue’s balcony, reciprocating their gestures of admiration.
Depp, who sported a slicked-back ponytail and tinted purple shades, made his way to sign autographs and greet screaming fans who waited with posters, shrines, and more.
The film’s director and star, Maïwenn, also broke out in tears as she briefly took the mic. “It was a production that was difficult to finance … and I want to share this moment with all my team [members] across the theater.”
Jeanne du Barry is currently seeking U.S. distribution at the French film festival.
