Josie Natori Hosts A Shopping Spree In Paris

Fashion maven Josie Natori hosted an intimate shopping event that delighted VIP clients of her famous clothing brand, Natori.

Internationally-known Filipina designer and Asian Cultural Council Chairman Josie Natori hosted an intimate and hands-on event with SOL’s VIP customers, offering them a unique experience and an exclusive glimpse into the world of her brand Natori. SOL is a lingerie store in Denver, Colorado that carries the Natori line. She was personally involved every step of the way, witnessing firsthand the impact of bringing the brand directly to its most loyal clientele. The event took place at her Paris apartment.

Josie Natori is the founder of Natori but began her career at Merrill Lynch, where she became the first female vice president in investment banking. She decided to pursue her childhood dream of becoming an entrepreneur, but ultimately settled on fashion, building the Natori Company, a women’s fashion design and manufacturing business based in New York City. The company sells lingerie, nightwear, ready-to-wear loungewear, leg wear, and underwear to upscale department stores in the U.S. and around the world. Natori is also in the home furnishings industry, and produces shoes, bags, dog apparel, sunglasses, and jewelry.

Cindy Johnson and Jeanie Peterson are the founders of SOL. Since opening their storefront in Denver in 1997, they have continued to educate women of all ages and sizes in the art of perfectly fitting lingerie. This desire has taken them around the world, collaborating with top lingerie designers and constantly seeking out and learning the latest in lingerie and design trends. They organize yearly trips to Paris, taking their entire staff and around 30 women for a holiday of eating, sightseeing, and shopping! They have hit a milestone of hosting over 120 VIP clients in their favorite French city, and have been visiting every January for years.

This activity they prepared, which Josie hosted at her home, had food catered by Chef Julie Pirin of Julie Gourmet. She was a former contestant in Top Chef France and can prepare hors d’oeuvres or meals for 50 to 500. She did a great job plating and arranging floral accents for Josie’s dining table that was filled with her delicious creations!

It was an exciting opportunity for SOL’s VIP clients to be in a designer’s home in Paris—who wouldn’t jump at the chance to buy Natori items directly from the founder herself? Many guests bought clothes, but it was a pleasant surprise to see how excited they were about the jewelry designed by Josie, some of which was made in the Philippines. Also present at the event was Josie’s good friend and the former Jewelry Artistic Director at Chanel and Louis Vuitton, Lorenz Baumer.

The gracious and generous hostess, Josie Natori, delighted many of her guests with great food in a beautiful location, offering a sale that featured her own personal touches. This memorable shopping experience is one they will fondly remember.
