Sony Philippines ensured that the masterclass was packed with activities. It began with a panel discussion featuring Jason and Jaja, where they shared the beginnings of their careers. They then provided professional tips and career advice to audience members through individual lectures and a live demo.

Both Jaja and Jason are considered masters of their craft, making them the ideal representatives of Sony as Alpha Professionals. Jaja is a popular wedding photographer known for her distinct, elegant style. Jason, known as the “Father of the Same Day Edit”, is a premier wedding videographer recognized for his high-quality, cinematic videos produced within hours.

A Creative Legacy
In her lecture, Jaja discussed her career plans and goals for her company. “My vision for my team is to be the most loved and trusted global wedding studio,” she shared. “Our mission is to spark joy and love by capturing the memories of the most cherished relationships in people’s lives.”

She further explained that she is dedicated to helping develop the talents of young creatives, a major reason as to why she is in the industry. “[I want to] build a legacy that opens opportunities and inspires other artists to pursue excellence,” she adds.
Jaja also guided aspiring photographers in attendance to discover their creative voice. She introduced various spectrums of photography, giving listeners a glimpse into the different styles to explore. She asked the audience: “What do you think matches your style? Does it match your vibe? Is your brand or personality elite or mass appeal?”
The Importance of Innovation
Jason, on the other hand, began his lecture with a timeline of his 25 years in the wedding industry, highlighting the themes of his masterclass, which focused on longevity and innovation. He showed the audience a video from 1999, back when he used to deliver his work through VHS tape. He also shared an anecdote from 2001, when he had to rush home after filming a wedding so that he could edit the footage and quickly return to the reception to present the video to the bride, groom, and their loved ones.

“I love tech. I love tech so much. That’s why I always want to be at the forefront in terms of delivery, technology, and acquisition,” he shared. Jason urged the creatives to grow with the times. He mentioned that throughout his long tenure, he upgraded his technology at every opportunity, resulting in better services.
Scenarios of Success
The Sony Alpha Professional duo also gave the audience a glimpse into how they work during weddings. They presented four scenarios that can occur at a wedding. One of the scenarios they provided was: what if the bride or the groom is too shy to pose for the camera?

Both Jaja and Jason emphasized the importance of building a rapport with subjects to boost their confidence and help them feel comfortable. “Always be on a first name basis,” Jason reminded the crowd.
The live demo highlighted Jason and Jaja’s mastery and expertise in their craft. Beyond teaching the audience about movements and lenses, the Sony Alpha Professionals inspired everyone present, showing that they, too, can achieve their dreams through passion.
