The heir to the throne allegedly accepted a bag of cash from a Qatari politician.
After the Sunday Times reported that Prince Charles accepted a suitcase containing 1 million euros (roughly $1.05 million), Clarence House has responded to the allegations.

The said suitcase, according to the Sunday Times, was only one of three lots of cash totaling 3 million euros that Prince Charles received between 2011 and 2015. These all came from former Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani.
Clarence House did not entirely deny the report. It still said that the cash represented charitable donations that are all accounted for.
“Charitable donations received from Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim were passed immediately to one of the Prince’s charities who carried out the appropriate governance and have assured us that all the correct processes were followed,” Clarence House told CNN in a statement.
Moreover, a royal source disputed details in the Sunday Times report, adding that their lawyers are now involved.
The Sunday Times wrote that Prince Charles got 1 million euros in carrier bags from Fortnum & Mason. On another occasion, he supposedly received a holdall during a private one-on-one meeting at Clarence House.
However, the publication clarified that these payments were for the Prince of Wales’s Charitable Fund. It added that there were no suggestions that these transactions were illegal.
