For La Fiesta Manila, a year into the refreshed identity of Lifestyle Asia, Apples Aberin and Kerry Tinga speak on heritage, new voices, and the brand’s direction.
Lifestyle Asia‘s La Fiesta Manila celebrated a year of the brand’s return to print and a refreshed identity that builds on its legacy as the country’s first luxury media title, now serving a next-generation community of cultural and business changemakers.
At the heart of the festivities was a short program where Vice President for Lifestyle Media Brands Apples Aberin, and Lifestyle Asia Chief of Editorial Content Kerry Tinga, reflected on the blend of heritage and contemporary storytelling.
Apples Aberin On Luxury Defined By Intention
Tonight, we celebrate not only a milestone for Lifestyle Asia, but also the vision that has guided One Mega Group for more than three decades. As a proudly homegrown media company, One Mega Group has always stood for telling Filipino stories with integrity, depth, and purpose. Our titles have shaped how we see ourselves–as a nation of innovators, creators, entrepreneurs, and leaders–and have helped build communities that move culture forward.
Lifestyle Asia has long been one of our most enduring pillars. But this year, we felt compelled to evolve–to respond to a world where luxury is no longer defined by excess, but by intention. And so the Lifestyle Asia refresh was born: a redefinition of luxury as the pursuit of meaning, and a life rooted in values.
La Fiesta Manila is a reflection of that spirit. It celebrates the richness of our identity–our warmth, our generosity, our passion for family, food, and celebration. And it honors the people who embody modern Filipino luxury.
But none of this would be possible without the people behind the brand. Starting with the CEO of AGC Power Holdings , Archie Carrasco, who has given us much-needed guidance and utmost trust throughout this journey. And, of course, the entire Lifestyle Asia team, especially our editorial team led by Kerry Tinga, whose rigor, creativity, and eye for beauty and nuance brought the refresh to life–congratulations. You have honored the past while fearlessly shaping the future. And to our partners, supporters, and the Lifestyle Asia community, thank you for trusting us with your stories and for walking with us through every chapter of this evolution.
Tonight is a celebration of all of you: of what we have built, and of what we will continue to build together.
Kerry Tinga On Storytelling As Power
Thank you, everyone, for joining us tonight. As Apples mentioned, Lifestyle Asia has been around for over three decades; to put it in perspective, that’s longer than I have been on this Earth. And with that esteemed heritage, this year, I was given the privilege of refreshing the brand to speak to my own generation: the young, bold, and inspired.
Thank you, Archie, for your trust and guidance. It’s been nearly a year of incredible stories, a lot of learnings, and with that, a lot of potential to do even more.
More what? You may ask. What the hell has Kerry and her team been doing over there at Lifestyle Asia?
We had a beautiful story the other day, written by our Associate Digital Editor, Pilar Gonzalez, about the romanticized life, which can seem naive in a time fraught with tension. But a romanticized life, or if I were to talk about it in terms of our lifestyle media brand, this aspirational world of beauty and, more importantly, I would say, wonder, that we write about and give story to, can remind us that, to quote, “when life takes so much, we can still be moved by what remains and shape that into something real enough to no longer need imagining.”
Thank you, Pilar, for letting me steal your words. You captured so beautifully what it is we do. We give story and narrative to people, places, and ideas that, in a humble way, can let people see beauty and wonder and possibility in the world, and want to contribute to that.
From the stories we produce, including cover features on personalities that take space and shape culture and their respective industries with fresh perspectives, and events that bring together our community in ways that foster connection and conversation—we held a summer fete, an art exhibit, and a wellness retreat.
And tonight, through the power of storytelling, and of course, the power of the amazing people behind this event, we connect with heritage: three decades of Lifestyle Asia, and the stories of culture and history that have shaped us, inspired us, and even challenged us to consider how we write the next chapter.
It’s been a long year, and I had no idea what I was doing at the start of the year. And today, frankly, we’re still learning, experimenting, and having fun! The year’s not over yet. We have one more print issue this year, for the Holidays, with hope and optimism filling the season.
