Jackson’s Together Again tour is her first visit to the country in 13 years as her last performance at the PICC Plenary Hall was in 2011. She held her Number Ones: Up Close and Personal concert there.

“Almost showtime”
The legendary singer held her concert in Hawaii before heading to the Philippines for its Manila stop. She arrived on Wednesday and posted an Instagram story showing that she and her team are headed to the venue.
She posted a photo before her show started at 8:00 p.m. yesterday, saying, “Almost showtime, Manila!”
Thousands of her fans flocked to the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City for Jackson’s much-awaited concert comeback.

Performing iconic songs
Jackson popularized classic songs like “That’s The Way Love Goes,” “I Get Lonely,” “Any Time, Any Place,” and “Together Again,” among others.
She sang most of her classic songs during the concert aside from the aforementioned songs. She also sang “Scream,” “Feedback,” “If,” “Nasty,” “What Have You Done For Me Lately,” and “Let’s Wait Awhile” to name a few. The singer had an emotional moment when she sang “Again” and the audience joined in to sing the song.
“I’m not ashamed to tell the world [that] Manila, I love you so much,” she said in the middle of a performance.
An R&B powerhouse
Jackson is the youngest member of her family but has shown immense talent since becoming a child actress on Good Times (1977). She released her album Control in 1986 and broke free from her family’s shadow.
She continued to explore empowerment and self-confidence during her career through her albums janet and Rhythm Nation 1814. Her fashion, music videos, and music solidified her image in the music industry and her hit songs cemented her status as an R&B powerhouse.
