Walking into 583 Park Avenue during New York Fashion Week felt a little like stepping through a portal. For Spring/Summer 2027, Alice + Olivia by Stacey Bendet transformed the grand Manhattan venue into its own version of Wonderland: playful, extravagant, and deliberately surreal. Titled Welcome to Wonderland, the presentation wasn’t just about viewing clothes, but also entering a new world. Oversized installations, unexpected proportions, and dreamlike environments surrounded the collection, from a Wonderland garden featuring a 20-foot mirrored gown to a life-sized dollhouse and playful miniature-meets-monumental details. The setting made the collection feel like part of a larger story, rather than clothes on display.

What’s In The New Alice + Olivia Spring/Summer 2027 Collection?
The collection itself followed the same idea of taking something familiar and making it feel a little unexpected. Bendet combined the polished codes of American sportswear with the romance and extravagance of couture. Tailored pieces, denim, simple T-shirts, and relaxed silhouettes were elevated through intricate embroidery, lace, feathers, satin jacquards, sequins, and elaborate beading.
What I particularly loved was the contrast between the everyday and the extraordinary. An intricately embroidered opera jacket could be imagined with something as simple as jeans, while heavily embellished sets could be broken apart and styled with a basic tank or tee. It made the fantasy feel surprisingly wearable through pieces that could easily be part of an everyday wardrobe, but with details that completely changed the feeling.
Soft pink, lavender, pale blue, yellow and white moved through the collection alongside stronger colours and graphic prints, adding to the playful sense of fantasy. There was also a fun DIY element to the presentation, with T-shirts that guests could cut, twist, and make their own, alongside more extravagant limited-edition DIY Couture pieces.
Shoes sustained the Wonderland mood with crystals, bows, florals and sculptural heels, embodying the collection’s playful language from head to toe.
Leaving the presentation, I kept thinking about the idea behind the collection: that fashion doesn’t always have to make sense. Sometimes the most exciting part is simply allowing yourself to imagine something impossible.
