Filipino footwear label Hayo steps into apparel with a capsule collection rooted in the rhythms of a hazy afternoon.
Hayo Footwear—a brand founded in 2025 by industrial designer Evita Miraflo—has spent the last year building a reputation around the idea that Filipino footwear deserves the same cultural weight as the global sneaker brands that dominate every feed. Now, the young label wants to expand that conversation past shoes. For its latest release, Hayo introduces a capsule collection called Siesta, which focuses on what’s arguably the most familiar footwear in any Filipino household: the slipper.

The Three Colorways And Three Moods Of The Siesta Slippers
The Siesta slippers come in three color ways that mirror different moods of the day. “Alapaap” appears in a muted sky blue punctuated with yellow stitching. “Silong” features a classic tan palette inspired by shade and shelter from the heat, while “Takipsilim” comes in deep brown with turquoise.
Hayo still prioritizes construction as much as storytelling. The slippers feature a kid nappa leather footbed lined with soft fabric, paired with a leather upper and rubber outsole. The result balances ease with durability, continuing the form-meets-function approach the brand established through earlier releases like the “Dulce” and the “Tilde.”

How Hayo Is Entering Lifestyle With The Siesta Capsule Collection
Siesta marks the brand’s first formal entry into clothing, pushing it closer toward full lifestyle territory. The collection introduces relaxed separates designed specifically for tropical weather, like the Camisa de Chino, Blusa, Tapis, and loose-fitting pants, all made from 100% locally sourced cotton and finished with capiz buttons where appropriate. The fabrics are made for humid afternoons, long lunches, and unstructured downtime that city life increasingly squeezes out.
“It’s our first, yes, but hopefully not our last,” Evita says about the brand’s expansion into apparel. “We want Hayo to grow into a lifestyle brand. Adding and releasing clothing feels like a step towards that.”

The Siesta capsule will launch on May 23, 2026 at Saglit by Flower Ranch Café.The afternoon gathering includes DJ sets from Shosho and Steve Hansen, alongside floral charms by Mina Asul.
