It’s no secret that celebrities go all-out for Halloween. After all, it’s a one-of-a-kind holiday about candy, horror films, and channeling a whole other persona. Here are our favorite costumes, from the most elaborate to (designer) makeshift ones that did the trick.

In a gothic look, the Brazilian supermodel completed her black leotard and cape look with body art and white contact lenses.
Bella Hadid
Although she was traveling on Halloween, the supermodel still put in high-fashion effort in her costume as a “walking heart.” Dressed in Schiaparelli, Hadid wore a hooded blood red gown paired with bleached-out eyebrows.
Halle Bailey
“Always wanted to be an Avatar,” the singer wrote in an Instagram post. And this year, Bailey did just that as Avatar‘s Neytiri.
