Patrick Mahomes Holds 15 And The Mahomies Foundation Gala

Illustrious personalities attended the 15 and the Mahomies Foundation Gala, Patrick Mahomes’ event that aims to support charitable causes.

After the Kansas City Chiefs’ successful year of winning the Super Bowl LVIII held in February, quarterback Patrick Mahomes initiated a charity event aiming to raise support for children in need. The 15 and the Mahomies Foundation Golf Classic Gala happened on April 27, Saturday, at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas. 

Mahomes showed he not only has athletic prowess, but the heart to make a positive impact in the world. Auctions, heartwarming moments, and companionship among illustrious personalities made the night memorable. The event emphasized the power of coming together for a worthy cause.

High profile personalities in attendance

Harry Santa-Olalla hosted the 15 and the Mahomies Foundation Golf Classic Gala. A report from People said current and former athletes attended the event, as well as Mahomes’ wife Brittany. 

Kansas City Chiefs’ tight end Travis Kelce also graced the event with singer-songwriter Taylor Swift, who he called his significant other. 

Professional golfer Tony Finau attended the gathering. He plays for the PGA Tour and has six wins so far, according to the organization’s website. He has more than $39 million career earnings so far and has his own organization, the Tony Finau Foundation.

Mixed martial arts and UFC fighter Khalil Rountree Jr. went to the gala as well. He has 14 wins and five losses from 2014 to 2023. 

Former National Football players Andrew Whitworth and Kyle Rudolph were also among the guests at the gala. Whitworth spent 16 years playing as a tackle in the NFL for the Cincinnati Bengals and the Los Angeles Rams. Meanwhile, Rudolph played for the Minnesota Vikings for 12 seasons as a tight end.

Auctioning balls and concert tickets

The Chiefs’ quarterback signed footballs and auctioned them off at the gala according to Us Weekly. Sources did not specify how many balls were signed, but they sold for $10,000 a piece.

Kelce supported Mahomes in the charity event with a special gift from Swift. The Chiefs’ tight end said there is another auction item that “wasn’t on the docket.” 

He said he was talking to his significant other, referring to the “Fortnight” singer. “Has anyone heard of the Eras Tour?” 

The crowd cheered after Kelce revealed Swift provided four tickets to the second U.S. leg of her tour. “There might be a fun game where there are four tickets to the Miami, New Orleans or Indianapolis dates when the Eras Tour comes back to the United States. Does that fire anybody up?” 

Us Weekly revealed that there was a “rousing bidding war” for the tickets. Kelce hyped up the ballroom, running across it to entice interested patrons. The tickets sold for a whopping $80,000.

Swift waved a red rally towel while auctioning off the tickets as seen from circulating videos. 

Travis Kelce auctioned off four tickets to “The Eras Tour” during the 15 and the Mahomies Foundation Golf Classic Gala.

What 15 and the Mahomies is

Mahomes’ foundation, 15 and the Mahomies, dedicates itself to improving children’s lives. The website explained that it supports initiatives focusing on the health and wellness of communities in need of resources and other charitable causes.

15 and the Mahomies currently has three programs listed on their site. Read for 15 is a 15-week program that encourages children to develop a love for reading. Volunteer for 15 is a partnership between the foundation and the Youth Volunteer Corps and their goal is to uphold youth volunteerism and learn about respect, helpfulness, and leadership.

Mahomes established the foundation in 2019. The foundation takes donations to help fund their chosen grants, charities, and other causes.

A great weekend

The Mahomes reflected on the success of the 15 and the Mahomies Foundation Golf Classic Gala. 

The Chiefs’ quarterback described the affair as a “great weekend” through an Instagram reel. Meanwhile, Brittany called the gala epic and expressed gratitude to everyone who came.

“If you were there, THANK YOU!” she said in a post. “We could not do this without all of our communities [that] we are a part of and all the people that choose to support @15andmahomies.”
