Most of us know that sun protection isn’t only essential for maintaining youthful skin and health. Time under the sun can boost your mood and well-being, but it can increase the risk of skin cancer and early aging if you’re entirely barefaced.

According to skincancer.org, you should use sunscreen of at least SPF 15 to lower the rise by 40 percent and lower the risk of melanoma by 50 percent.
But now that it’s summer, ironically, the temptation to skip a layer of product in your skincare routine is real—you want your skin to breathe amid the humidity after all. So, here are tinted SPF recommendations that can hit two birds with one stone: sun protection and ample coverage.
PRIORI Skincare Tetra
SPF: 55
Apart from sun protection, Priori Skincare says the Tetra can double as a shield from environmental pollutants. It is recommended for all skin types, including acne-prone and those in the market for anti-aging products. Founded in 2005, the brand was initially available from dermatologists and medical spas. They’ve broadened their product range to be more accessible to the public.

DIOR Prestige Light-In-White Le Protecteur
SPF: 50+
The product’s balm-like texture can help with a more manageable application (if you’ve tried thick formulas, you’d know it’s harder to apply without harshly rubbing your face evenly). According to the French brand, the Prestige Light-In-While Le Protecteur is ideal for sensitive skin as 95 percent of its ingredients are of “natural origin,” like vitamin C and white rose.
Apart from medium coverage and working against skin aging, your skin can be protected from UVB rays for up to ten hours.

ALASTIN HydraTint Pro Mineral Sunscreen
SPF: 36
Alastin’s mineral sunscreen is lightweight, given the Philippines’ humidity, which you may prefer. It’s also water-resistant, so the product can stay intact even if you sweat. To ensure their products are effective, Alastin, founded in 2015, has partnered with Galderma—a dermatologist group that works with brands to formulate quality skincare.

LA MER Radiant Skin Tint Broad Spectrum
SPF: 30
La Mer’s tinted sunscreen comes in seven shades from “light” to “deep.” Despite the formula’s coverage, the brand also says you can wear it under foundation and over primer. The Radiant Skin Tint is made without parabens, phthalates, or artificial preservatives that can cause rashes and brittle skin.
