“Filipiñana” Hosts Benefit Screening To Support Actress Jorrybell Agoto

By

A special screening of Rafael Manuel’s internationally acclaimed film on November 8, 2026 will help cover actress Jorrybell Agoto’s mounting medical expenses.

A benefit screening of Filipiñana (2026), the critically acclaimed film directed by Rafael Manuel and starring Filipina actress Jorrybell Agoto, will take place on November 8, 2026 to help cover the medical expenses of the actress, who remains in critical condition. Agoto has been confined to the Critical Care Unit of St. Luke’s Medical Center for a month as she undergoes treatment. Her family has appealed for financial assistance, citing the considerable costs of her medical care, which they can no longer manage on their own.

“Jorry grew up in the province, without a dad in the picture. From her earnings as an artist, she turned her family’s bahay kubo into a real house, and she’s been the breadwinner for her mom and her younger brother,” shares her co-star and Lifestyle Asia October 2026 cover star Isabel Sicat. “We’re so lucky the film has been well received, but it feels strange to celebrate while our star is in such dire circumstances. So we’re holding a fundraiser screening for her.”
