This Academy Award Winner generously helped his 105-year-old neighbor by letting him stay at his Los Angeles home until the latter died.
It is common for Hollywood actors and actresses to buy multiple properties for investments and of course, as a place of residence. But Once Upon a Time in Hollywood… (see what I did there) Brad Pitt reportedly let his elderly neighbor live in his Los Angeles home rent-free.

Pitt reportedly bought the home in 1994 from Elvira, Mistress of The Dark star Cassandra Peterson for $1.7 million (P94 million). Pitt sold the house three decades later in March this year for $40 million (P2 billion).
The Generous Act
Pitt bought the 1.9-acre property from actress Peterson and in an interview, Peterson opened up about her years of living next door to Pitt, she mentioned seeing him train for ‘Fight Club’ where she “almost fainted.” Peterson also opened up about the actor ending up with an unexpected elderly tenant on the property.
The deal began when Pitt slowly expanded the footprint of the estate. “I think there were like 22 houses that were contiguous to the edge of the property. And every time they came up he bought one,” Peterson explained.
Pitt bought the old man’s house to add to his sprawling estate and according to Peterson, “He [Pitt] was very, very kind to the old man. His wife passed away and the husband, John, lived there. I know that Brad allowed him to live there without paying anything until he died.”
The house is reported to have 6,700 square feet with five bedrooms and bathrooms, a skate park, a ballroom, a movie theater, a motorcycle garage, a stone house, and a huge Koi pond.
Whirlwind of Emotions
The A-lister Hollywood star lived there with his ex-wife Angelina Jolie and their six children – Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Knox and Vivienne—before the famous couple called it quits in 2016.
Brad Pitt is reportedly dating jewelry designer Ines de Ramon since late 2022. The actor was linked to several women after his divorce from Angelina Jolie in September 2016, including Emily Ratajkowski and Nicole Poturalski.
It is reported that Pitt is moving to Carmel in Northern California.
