The actor is still on the rise with new projects coming in left and right.
The Hulu TV series Nine Perfect Strangers will be coming back for a second season, this time featuring the talented Dolly de Leon.
Nicole Kidman will be returning to produce and star in the show. Filling up the roster of “strangers,” Liv Ullmann, Murray Bartlett, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, and Aras Aydin will be joining the two actors. According to Deadline, casting for the remaining roles is still ongoing.
The show’s first season became Hulu’s most-watched original series in 2021. It featured Kidman along with Filipino-Canadian actor Manny Jacinto, Melissa McCarthy, Michael Shannon, Luke Evans, Bobby Cannavale, Regina Hall, and Samara Weaving.
The series is based on Liane Moriarty’s book with the same title. The author also wrote Big Little Lies which was turned into an HBO series also starring Kidman.
The second installment of Nine Perfect Strangers will likely follow the general formula of the first season. Nine city dwellers come together at a wellness resort run by Masha (Kidman). However, these “perfect” strangers have no idea what’s about to hit them during the 10-day retreat.
Aside from the upcoming series, de Leon has just wrapped up filming Grand Death Lotto. She is also set to star in A Very Good Girl along with Kathryn Bernardo.
The actor has been making history at international award ceremonies since last year. She was the first Filipino to be nominated in major acting categories at the Golden Globes and the BAFTAs.
She has won awards for her role as Abigail in Triangle of Sadness, including Best Supporting Actress at the Los Angeles Film Critics Association Awards and at the Guldbbage Awards.
