Artist Ivan Co’s unique work is featured in ‘Strive for Perfection: The Official Platinum Jubilee Edition’ a coffeetable book honoring Queen Elizabeth’s 70-year reign and the connection between royalty and the Rolls Royce and Bentley cars.
According to Robert Jobson, royal biographer of the British monarchy: “His works resonate what the book is all about – a regal celebration of the glorious reign of Her Majesty the Queen. We have seen no other artist whose style and aesthetic reverberated what we are trying to convey with this year’s edition of Strive for Perfection.”
The statement is in reference to third-generation jeweler Ivan Co, who has “evolved from creating fashionable jewelry into kinetic sculptures in precious metal encrusted with gemstones and semi-precious stones,” states a press release. The statement adds, “The self-titled “paracosmic artist” creates art that allows the viewer to escape from the chaos of life. Characterized by ornate pendulums and revolving globes, the sculptures mesmerize the viewer into a relaxing state.”
The artist’s unique work is featured in Strive for Perfection: The Official Platinum Jubilee Edition, a coffeetable book honoring Queen Elizabeth’s 70-year reign and the connection between royalty and the Rolls Royce and Bentley cars. Published by the world’s most prestigious car clubs, the International Club for Rolls-Royce and Bentley Enthusiasts (or RREC) and the leading royal publisher St James’s House, the 500-page book also includes a selection of luxury brands and prominent artists such as Co.
Per the artist’s website, a paracosm is defined as “a noun, used to describe a complex and richly detailed imaginary world created over the span of a number of years.” It adds that: “The creator of a paracosm has a complex and deeply felt relationship with this subjective universe, which may incorporate real-world or imaginary characters and conventions.”
Co will hold an exhibit of his kinetic bejeweled sculptures at The Suites at One Bonifacio High Street on November 19.
