Malaysia’s KITA Food Festival

Last September, the KITA Food Festival made a comeback in Kuala Lumpur, gathering the biggest names in the culinary scene from across the region.

The food festival will return for a weekend, on November 8-10, this time in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. On the 8th, the best bartenders in the city will come together for “Sunset Sips: A Cocktail Soirée,” creating drinks infused with exotic herbs and endemic fruits from Sabah.

The next day, the restaurant series will begin with a brunch cooked by chefs Ray Adriansyah and Linn Yong. The event will take place at Yong’s Limau & Linen and will feature the very best from Sabah’s farmers, fishermen, and agricultural artisans.

Later in the day, chefs Aidan Low and Raphael Peter Lee will be teaming up for a four-hands dinner at Oitom. Both chefs specialize in “New Asian” cuisine, turning the native flora and fauna of these lands into a unique culinary culture.

The last day will see a series of keynote speeches, fireside chats, and panel discussions called Kita Conversations. Experts in the field will be focusing on trends, obstacles, and opportunities in the F&B industry.

Lastly, the festival will wrap up with a Big Sunday Barbecue at Shangri-La Tanjung Aru’s picturesque beachfront. Three teams of two chefs will be working on innovative barbecue dishes as guests enjoy the casual atmosphere.
