As more Filipinos pick up a racket and discover the sport, AVARI Tennis Studio arrives with a timely answer to one of the biggest challenges of playing regularly: finding the court, as well as finding the right time and weather to actually get on one. Launched during Manila’s rainy season, AVARI is the Philippines’ first indoor tennis simulation studio, bringing three enclosed courts to the fifth floor of The Podium Mall in Mandaluyong.
Founded by entrepreneur cousins and tennis enthusiasts Abby Frias Teotico and Anton Bernal, the studio was created to make training more accessible while giving players a more engaging way to practice, whether they’re holding a racket for the first time or preparing for competition.

A Smarter Way To Practice With AVARI Tennis Studio At The Podium
The highlight when you visit AVARI is its tennis simulators, sourced from South Korea, where around 200 of the machines have been supplied across Asia. Each of the studio’s three courts is enclosed in 12mm tempered glass, while its flooring uses tournament-grade paint calibrated to simulate an actual court.
The technology gives every session a little more to work with. Sensors track ball speed, spin, shot placement, consistency, and match performance, with statistics provided after each training mode. Players can customize their sessions according to their skill level, train in doubles with two players on a court, or turn practice into a game through Arcade Mode, which challenges players to hit interactive cartoon targets on screen. Younger players can also adjust the difficulty for a slower-paced introduction to the sport.
For players looking to take their game further, AVARI also offers coaching and training programs led by business partner and coaching director Roland Kraut, a former Philippine Davis Cup coach and current head of the De La Salle University UAAP Tennis program. Racket rentals, demo options from different brands and models, and training aids such as the Saber Racket and Topspin Pro are also available.
