These smartphones launched only within the past year all equip cameras that stand out for their high-tech capabilities and user-friendliness. Here’s a quick guide to all these different mobile photography options.
Apple iPhone 13 series
The iPhone 13 (P44,990) includes the brand’s best dual-camera system and biggest wide sensor yet. This smartphone packs features like sensor-shift optical image stabilization and a faster sensor for the ultra-wide option.
Meanwhile, the iPhone 13 Pro (P63,990) has the same features with its wide option capturing up to 2.2 times more light and ultra-wide capturing 92 percent more light. It also has night mode on every lens, including the new telephoto feature with a 77-millimeter focal length and 3x optical zoom.
Google Pixel 6 Pro
The Google Pixel 6 Pro has 50-megapixel (MP) wide, 12 MP ultrawide, and 48 MP telephoto cameras that capture 150 percent more light using a new and larger main sensor.
Samsung Galaxy S22 series
The Samsung Galaxy S22 series (P49,990 to P68,990) contains what the company describes as its “most intelligent camera.” This pro-grade camera is powered by a sensor 23 percent larger than the previous generation. Moreover, all S22 smartphones (S22, S22+, S22 Ultra) include 10 MP front, 12 MP ultra-wide, 50 MP wide, and 10 MP telephoto cameras.
Sony Xperia 1 III
The Sony Xperia 1 III is a 5G smartphone with a triple camera array that has four optical focal lengths and real-time AF tracking. It is the world’s first smartphone with variable telelens and a dual PD sensor.
Vivo X80 series
The Vivo X80 series, co-engineered with ZEISS, consists of the X80 (P45,999) and X80 Pro (P59,999) variants. Both models feature ZEISS Optics, AI video enhancement, active centering OIS system, and XDR photo display technology.
The X80 Pro, meanwhile, is the first and only gimbal portrait camera in any smartphone in the country.
