The Filipino sustainable footwear brand introduces The Traveler’s Collection, a new line of sneakers designed for movement, exploration, and all the detours that make a trip worth remembering. Launching exclusively at Purveyor Fair 2026, the collection builds on LAKAT’s signature design language while taking a fresh step forward with a newly designed sole.

Made For Wherever Your Feet Take You
Created with the consummate traveler in mind, The Traveler’s Collection honors adventure in all its forms, its color ways taking inspiration from a variety of activities and places. “The design tied deeply to the color ways made in collaboration with visual artist and designer, Jadon Kilayko,” explains Steph Claparols, daughter of LAKAT founders Michael and Banj Claparols, whose vision guided the new collection. “They reference our adventures like hiking up a mountain, drifting through a river, dipping into the sea, or simply taking a stroll in the fields.”
While the sneaker retains a silhouette familiar to the brand, its outsole brings a distinct new character to the design, each side following a different curve: the inside mirrors the natural curve of the foot, while the outer shape evokes the forward movement of a wave.
How LAKAT Champions Local Craft Through Pineapple Leaves
LAKAT’s journey begins much closer to home. Every pair is created through the work of Negrense weavers and farmers, transforming pineapple leaves—an agricultural byproduct—into threads that are woven using knowledge passed down through generations. The process creates footwear with a distinctly Filipino story while supporting the skills and livelihoods of the communities behind each pair. Sleek enough for the city and sporty enough for wherever adventure calls, The Traveler’s Collection is made for those who find joy in the act of wandering and venturing off the beaten path.
