En route to its glorious victory, the sophisticated single malt beat 1700 different types of spirits, coming from various parts of the globe—from shochu, baijiu, liqueurs, tequila, mezcal, to gin, vodka, rum, aquavit, brandy, armagnac, cognac, and whiskies.
The ISC or International Spirits Challenge, hailed as the most authoritative, respected, and influential spirits competition in the world, recently crowned the Dalmore 35 Years Old as “Supreme Champion 2020”—and deservedly so. Since its global debut in 2016, the prized bottle has been a choice of whiskey connoisseurs from its elegantly designed case to its unparalleled drink experience. Encased in a bespoke, hand-blown crystal decanter made by esteemed French crystal house Baccarat with a crystal stopper cast in silver, it also carries the brand’s signature emblem—the 12-point Royal Stag created by Scottish silversmith, Hamilton & Inches, holder of the Royal Warrant.
Already in its 25th year, the ISC has been a respected name in showcasing the most outstanding brands in the industry from all over the world, be it established or emergent. With a rigorous and independent judging process that all the more ensures its credibility and prestige, only the best and of high-quality spirits, designs, and campaigns are entered in the competition year on year. This year, over 1700 entries from around 70 countries made it into the worldwide competition, undergoing a meticulous blind test by the world’s renowned specialists.
