Where to Buy: Refreshing Skincare Products for the Summer Months

Your scalp is skin, too.

In this series, we look at what’s trending and notice what people are reaching their wallets for. We recommend which luxury products are worth trying and can satiate your retail therapy needs from fashion to beauty to food and tech.

It’s summer! And even though the season means planning beach trips, it also means planning out your skincare routine. Other than stocking up on SPF (click here for where to buy tinted sunscreen) and insect repellant (COVID may have overshadowed dengue, but that’s something to be cautious about), there are products you can try to keep your skin radiant.

From a refreshing face spray that you can use mid-day to shampoo to protect your highlights, here are six products to revamp your beauty routine for the months of sunshine.

LA PRAIRIE White Caviar

The days are brighter, and you may want your skin to be too. La Prairie uses white caviar essence, an ingredient it says can hydrate, produce collagen, and exfoliate. The three uses can enhance your skin—enhancing the sun’s light reflecting off your skin.

It can be applied morning and evening, after cleansing your face as your second skincare step.

MARIO BADESCU Deodorant

It goes without saying that deodorant is essential for keeping your underarms dry and neutralizing odor.

Mario Badescu uses natural ingredients like sage extract as astringent, rosehip oil to nourish, and aloe vera to soothe and hydrate. It’s also vegan and free of aluminum and parabens.

MARIO BADESCU  Facial Spray

When you’re under the beaming sun, a facial spray comes in handy. Mario Badescu’s Facial Spray contains aloe, herbs, and rose water in a 118 ml size you can store in your handbag.

Other scent options include Aloe Chamomile Lavender and Aloe Cucumber Green Tea. Tip: keep your skincare in the fridge so it’s more refreshing when applied!

STILA One Step Correct

If you want to shorten your routine for base makeup (usually consisting of primer followed by foundation, then concealer, and setting powder if you remember not to skip the step), you can  try a product that’s multi-purpose.

Stila’s One Step Correct says it can prime, color-correct, brighten, and nourish all in one formula. It comes in four shades and is designed for all skin types.

PHYTO Haircare

Heat from the sun can cause brassiness for dyed or bleached hair. To maintain and protect your colored hair, Phyto’s Phytoarent No Yellow Shampoo says it can prevent hair from looking less vibrant.

The Phyto range also includes a Phytopolleine Roll On which cares for the scalp. Using essential oils, hair can be rid of excess sebum, dandruff, and itchiness caused by sweat.

THE BODY SHOP Edelweiss

While sun exposure can speed up the skin’s aging process, adding an extra step to keep our faces looking fresh wouldn’t hurt.

Formerly known as Drops of Youth, The Body Shop has renamed its best-selling skincare range to Edelweiss. The new name also comes with a new formula and extended line-up.

Edelweiss extract containing Leontopodic acid, a unique ingredient that’s 60 percent stronger than ferulic acid, a known antioxidant. Edelweiss can maintain skin barrier health and smoothen, resulting in a youthful glow.
