Matte lips turn sparkly when pressed
Social media popularized what seems to be one of the most coveted holiday makeup must-have: glitter lipsticks.
These lip lacquers showcase a matte finish once applied but the catch is that you have to wait for a few minutes before pressing your lips. A sparkly glittering finish appears as soon as you do the final step of the application.
Multinational luxury fashion house Dior released a matte-glittery line of liquid lipsticks. They consist of four different shades like Seductive or 620 with a rosy red tone, Dior’s signature red 999, Magical or 993 with a plum tinge, and Fascinating or 833 that is red-brown in color.
The glitter lipsticks turned out to be so popular in social media especially on Tiktok and additionally, Dior limited quantities. The lipsticks sold out quickly and unsurprisingly and they are not viewable on the brand’s website. Some branches worldwide restock the sparkly lacquers however so don’t give up just yet!
Eyeshadow palette delivers affirmations
A classic adage says that “Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder.” That couldn’t be more true and that couldn’t be more demonstrated with sparkly, ethereal eyes. Glittering specs adds festive enchantment to the makeup wearer.
Danessa Myricks Beauty delivers just that with their Lightwork V I Am Palette. It consists of 18 shades for the eyes and the whole face. The palette contains intuitively-curated color combinations and dynamic finishes that are easy to use.
The cosmetic brand said on their website that the palette is “inspired by the beautiful light in all of us.”
The brand named the shades into affirmations such as “Enough,” “Powerful,” “Radiant,” “Resilient,” among others. The wearer must mutter the words “I am” while applying the pigment onto their face.
The magic of the “Roaring Twenties” eyeshadow palette
French luxury fashion house Chanel featured their Lumière Graphique eyeshadow palette as well. It suits the ones who prefer classic shades or go for a more smoky approach.
The brand said the palette contains a limited edition set of shades that the opulence and magic of the “Roaring Twenties” inspired. It has five contrasting and light-catching shades from platinum beige and bronze to shimmering black, pink beige and diamond white for perfect, bewitching eyes.
Chanel developed the palette exclusively for its Holiday 2023 Collection.
A pearlescent glow in these face highlighters
Highlighters are a non-negotiable part of applying your holiday makeup because it literally highlights one’s stunning face. They brighten certain areas of the skin and are also useful when doing contours.
Luxe brand Hermès features their Plein Air Radiant Glow Powder in Mirage which enhances one’s complexion with luminous radiance. The glow powder possesses a golden pink shade which is a universal tone.
Dior showcased their commitment to the sparkly glow with their Forever Couture Luminizer Highlighter Powder. It presents three shades: Nude Glow (bronze), Pearlescent Glow (diamond sheen), and Golden Glow (gold).
The highlighters deliver elevated yet subtle lusters on one’s face so not only is it perfect for the holidays, but it’s also everyday appropriate. They add a layer of brightness that wakes up the skin in an instant.
The high demands for cosmetic glitter rose this year as consumers are drawn to a touch of sparkle in every look. A LinkedIn post from Ellen He explained that the two key factors behind the trend are due to people’s wellness and self-expression.
One can use as much sparkly cosmetics as they wish as long as the items are safe and consumers practice discretion upon purchase. Other than that, there is no reason for anyone to dull their sparkle especially during the upcoming holiday season.
