Bar Leone Named World’s Best Bar Again By The 50 Best Bars

Hong Kong’s neighborhood cocktail bar retains its crown as The 50 Best Bars unveils its 2026 ranking, featuring 14 new entries across 26 cities.

Hong Kong’s Bar Leone has been named the world’s best bar for the second consecutive year, leading The 50 Best Bars 2026 list unveiled on October 7 at an awards ceremony in Milan, Italy. Now in its 18th edition, the annual ranking features venues across 26 cities, including 14 new entries. Milan’s Moebius Milano takes No. 2, followed by Alquímico in Cartagena at No. 3, Bar Us in Bangkok at No. 4, and Line in Athens at No. 5.

The ranking is determined by an academy of more than 800 drinks experts across 29 geographic regions. Each voter selects eight bars based on their best experiences over the preceding 18 months, with voting independently adjudicated by Deloitte.

Bar Leone Retains Its World’s Best Bar Title

Since opening in 2023, Bar Leone has made a swift climb through the rankings. It debuted at No. 1 on Asia’s 50 Best Bars in 2024 and reached No. 2 globally that same year, before claiming the world title in 2025.

Co-founded by Italian bartender Lorenzo Antinori, the Central neighborhood bar takes its cues from the drinking cultureCultureshared traditions, beliefs, values, customs, arts, and social practices that define the identity and way of life of a community, society, or nation.Go to Culture Glossary of Rome’s Trastevere district. The drinks program centres on well-executed classics with Italian influences, accompanied by snacks including smoked olives and a mortadella sandwich.

Regional Highlights And New Entries On The 50 Best Bars 2026 List

Hong Kong’s other entries are Argo at No. 25 and newcomers Montana at No. 36 and Gokan at No. 41. Bangkok follows with three bars: Bar Us, new entry Dry Wave Cocktail Studio at No. 27, and BKK Social Club at No. 30.

Paris becomes Europe’s most represented city for the first time, with The Cambridge Public House, Bar Nouveau, De Vie, and Danico making the ranking. Moebius Milano, meanwhile, takes the title of best bar in Europe.

In the Americas, Mexico City’s Handshake Speakeasy is named the best bar in North America at No. 6. Fellow Mexico City venue Bar Mauro debuts at No. 10, earning the Highest New Entry Award. New York’s Schmuck enters at No. 11 and receives the Best New Opening Award.

Athens’ The Bar in Front of the Bar rises 28 places to No. 19, securing the Highest Climber Award, while Gokan founder Shingo Gokan receives the Industry Icon Award.
