Singer songwriter Taylor Swift embarked on a remarkable and record-breaking journey through her Eras Tour. This resulted in Swift now having a net worth of $1.1 billion.
Taylor Swift broke records through The Eras Tour as the singer songwriter ventured on the endeavor to celebrate her music. The tour brought in an estimate of $780 million in ticket sales and is dubbed to be one of the highest-grossing events of all time as per Forbes.
Swift continues to break her own boundaries as she has been proclaimed to have a billionaire status. She is the first musician to reach these ranks through only her songs and performances.
Forbes reported further that Swift is worth more than $1.1 billion. The status moved up from the estimated $360 million from June where she ranked 34 among America’s richest self-made women.
Taylor Swift’s assets are mostly her tour and valuable discography
Swift accumulated more than $500 million from music royalties and touring. She earned approximately $190 million after taxes from the first US leg of The Eras Tour and another $35 million from the first two weeks of screenings of her film Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour.
The singer made another $500 million from the increasing value of her music catalog. Swift pursues re-recording two of her albums namely Reputation and self-titled Taylor Swift to finally own the rest of her masters.
Aside from what Swift does, she also possesses $125 million in real estate including six homes and a $10 million private plane.
Forbes reported that Swift is the 15th celebrity on their rankings and one of just four musicians to earn billionaire status. She also does not own a brand or a “profitable side-hustle” to propel her to reach a billion net worth.
Swift’s music ‘defies the challenges creatives face’
Founder and chief executive of Sound Royalties Alex Heiche told Forbes that Swift’s catalog is a testament of how much influence an artist has.
“Her music not only transcends borders but also defies the challenges faced by creatives in the streaming era,” Heiche said.
Heiche added that Swift’s catalog value has “substantially appreciated” since her transformation as her own global brand. He noted that Scooter Braun’s team valued her original six-album master catalog at $140 million during its sale five years ago.
Continued success with 1989 Taylor’s Version
Swift released 1989 (Taylor’s Version) on October 27 and the fourth album from her original six-album masters that she re-recorded. Her deluxe version included five new songs and a remix of her song “Bad Blood (Taylor’s Version)” that featured Kendrick Lamar.
1989 Taylor’s Version included another “secret song” titled “Sweeter Than Fiction (Taylor’s Version).” A 1989 (Taylor’s Version) Target tangerine edition vinyl contains the secret song and is currently unavailable in all streaming sites.
Swift’s fourth re-recorded album broke records as it quickly gained massive popularity in only a matter of days. Billboard reported that 1989 (Taylor’s Version) ranked as “the top-selling album in America” in 2023. The album earned the moniker after only five days of hitting sales and streams upon release.
The album surpassed Swift’s own Midnights which was produced in 2022. She now has the top three selling albums as per Billboard, the third being Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) which she released in July.
Billboard added that Swift is “the only act” with six different albums to each sell at least 1 million copies in a single week.
The globally-acclaimed singer described her newly-released re-recorded album as a part of her being “reclaimed” once more.
