Working towards a meaningful cause cements Lifestyle Asia’s mission of going beyond luxury living.
While the entire country remains struggling after getting hit with one crisis after the other, a semblance of hope glimmers. Relief efforts poured in from different organizations, groups, and individuals after the recent devastation of super typhoons Rolly and Ulysses. One Mega Group is among them, standing united with many others for this meaningful cause. Through #RisePH, the One Mega Group Relief Operations, we gathered both cash and in-kind donations. Essentials were bought and will be given to typhoon-affected families. Through our initiative, we have shown once more how much Filipinos value the spirit of bayanihan, no matter the crisis we face.

Strength in numbers
Together with Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto and the city’s RED (Rescue Emergency Disaster) team, the #RisePH initiative succeeded in distributing relief packages. 500 families in different barangays in Pasig City received these packs, each containing 6 packs of instant noodles, 2 cans of tuna, 3 cans of sardines, 3 kilograms of rice, 5 face masks, 5 coffee sachets, and 1 bottled water.
All these became possible with the generous donations that #RisePH gathered from our various donation channels. A total of P116,611.44 was pooled in for this effort. We reached this remarkable number through the help of 28 donors including Geewel Fuster, Marga Nograles, Tina Cuevas, Jhon and Jet Torres Salvador, and Lifestyle Asia’s Editor-in-Chief, Dong Ronquillo–our gracious donors reflected the culture of kindness that everyone must continue.
Since the pandemic began, Filipinos have been relying on initiatives and efforts from the private sector and the help of local government units. So, it is not a surprise for the term “donation fatigue” to materialize a few months into the nationwide quarantine. This culture of donation has been the foundation for the survival of citizens. Despite this, we are reminded to never get exhausted from helping. We continue to support our fellow countrymen in whatever form it takes. Be it financial and material help or mental health assistance and emotional encouragement, we must always be attuned to the needs of one another. This, in itself, creates strength stemming from the kindness we show to others.
