Allure Philippines Names Industry Authority As EIC

Allure Philippines under MEGA Global Licensing Inc. has appointed Rissa Mananquil Trillo–beauty expert, industry authority, best-selling author, advocate for entrepreneurship and women’s empowerment–to lead the third international edition of Allure.

Earlier this year, in June 2024, the company announced that Allure Philippines will be published under a license agreement with MEGA Global Licensing Inc. and Condé Nast. The company revealed that the magazine will launch in English-language print, digital, and social platforms.

Through Allure Philippines, Rissa envisions “shaping the future of beauty in the country.” She declares, “With over three decades of unparalleled beauty reporting, Allure has established itself as the most trusted global beauty authority by offering expert-validated advice that speaks to real-world beauty needs. The entry of Allure Philippines will pioneer a new era of beauty expertise for Filipinos.”

Rissa is an entrepreneur, best-selling author, beauty journalist, and model with over 20 years of experience in the business of beauty. She is also a UN Women Champion and an advocate for sustainable beauty.

The award-winning entrepreneur earned her degree in Business Management from Ateneo de Manila University and holds an Executive MBA from the Asian Institute of Management. She has also studied Business Sustainability Management at the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership.

Making An Impact In The Business Of Beauty

She has worked in the business of beauty for 20 years now, starting as one of the Philippines’ top models. She was also a beauty columnist for The Philippine Star as well as president of the Professional Models Association of the Philippines (PMAP) for five years. During her tenure, she had instituted relevant reforms that protected models’ rights in the fashion industry.

Furthermore, Rissa was awarded as Woman Entrepreneur of the Year in 2017 by Entrepreneur of the Year (EOY) Philippines. The program was founded and globally supported by Ernst & Young. In 2018, GO Negosyo with recognition from The President of the Philippines honored her as Inspiring Filipina Entrepreneur of the Year. Her impactful contributions to the business landscape led to this commendation.

In addition, Rissa is a vocal advocate for entrepreneurship and women’s empowerment. As such, she has been a featured speaker for platforms including CNN Philippines’ Leading Women to #PressForProgress Summit, TEDx, Cosmo BeautyCon, Harvard Undergraduate Women in Business, Ateneo de Manila University, as well as UN Women Philippines.

Further to these, Allure Philippines’ newly appointed editor-in-chief is also a bestselling author. Her acclaimed book Read My Lips: What It Takes to Be a World-Class Homegrown Brand recounts her storied journey as an entrepreneur. Moreover, Rissa has been an active advocate for equality and women’s empowerment through her work with UN Women Philippines.
