Never go out without sunblock or sunscreen

Sunscreens or sunblocks are crucial to make sure we are taking care of our skin from the sun’s ultraviolet rays (UV). We might be prone to sunburn, aging, and skin cancer if we neglect our skin’s health. Having them handy by our side during beach trips is essential, and will work wonders if we use them all year round!

Make sure you know your skin type to know what kind of sunscreen or sunblock is right for you. Having one with high SPFs or sun protection factor will create a protective barrier against the sun to reduce its harmful effects.

Always bring water wherever you go

You should include water as one of the beach essentials you should pack this summer! The scorching heat will prompt the body to squeeze a lot of sweat out of your body, which would lead to dehydration if you don’t replenish the fluids that have left. Dehydration may also lead to heat exhaustion. Make sure you have a handy flask of water when you go out of town.

Block harmful rays from your eyes with sunglasses

UV exposure is rampant during the summer season. Aside from your skin, taking care of your eyes is just as necessary. The American Optometric Association said wearing sunglasses is beneficial to lifelong ocular care.

Short-term effects of the UV rays on our eyes include keratitis, or inflamed corneas. It happens when the frontal part of our eyes is exposed too much and is heavily damaged. They added cataract formation and age-related macular degeneration as examples of long-term effects of the sun’s UV rays.

Protect your eyes and make your sunglasses as a much-needed beach trip essential.

Make room for umbrellas and hats

Outdoor or water excursions mean prolonged exposure to the sun, so it’s important to keep umbrellas and hats in your beach essentials list. These two have two different functions according to CNA, but both will significantly reduce the effects of the sun’s adverse heat.

First off, a hat doesn’t protect most of your body from the sun, but when the heat is too intense on your head, you’d be glad you kept one! Sometimes they’re nice additions to photos on your social media feed, but it’s a functional item to keep. An umbrella just might be more protective since it covers the majority of your body.

Have both. You can never lose when you pack for all contingencies!

Invest in dry bags

What are dry bags? They are handy because they are designed to keep your valuables safe for all types of conditions. These bags are ideally used during activities like kayaking, hiking, camping, and other water activities.

The materials typically used for dry bags consist of nylon, vinyl, and polyester. These are durable and resistant to tearing and other related damages, making them an ideal must-bring on your trip.

Dry bags can be used for hiking, camping, and numerous water activities to protect your belongings.

Bring beach chairs or sand-proof blankets

You’ll be wearing your bathers on the shores when you hit the beach, so bringing your beach chairs or blankets are vital. There will be times where you want to bask in the sun instead of bathing in the water, so you’ll need a clean and comfortable space to lounge by the shore.

Beach blankets provide protection from hot sand and you don’t have to worry about your towel catching too much of it. Meanwhile, chairs are more comfortable than sitting on actual sand, but make sure you get light and foldable ones that will be easy to carry.

Pack necessary toiletries

Bring your usual toiletries on your beach trip! It’s important to cleanse yourselves from the salt water and sand that may have been caught in your hair, legs, or feet. Make sure you have your trusty shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toothbrush, toothpaste, and deodorant. Bring reusable bags where you can store damp beach wear or dirty clothes.
