Palawan has cemented its reputation as a premier global travel destination over the years.
Palawan, Philippines has ranked 13th among 25 other destinations in Travel + Leisure’s 2024 World’s Best Islands list.
Within Asia, Palawan placed fifth, only topped by Maldives, Phu Quoc in Vietnam, Bali in Indonesia, and Koh Samui in Thailand.

Natural Beauty
In Palawan, tourists can bask in the natural scenery with a mix of adventure and tranquility. Go on a tour and explore the island’s many majestic limestone cliffs, hidden lagoons, and lush rainforests.
The Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park has also been named a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is a must-visit destination for nature lovers.

Through eco-friendly tours, visitors can experience the island’s pristine beaches, secluded coves, and vibrant marine ecosystems.
Tourists are also encouraged to immerse themselves in the island’s rich culture. Some indigenous communities such as the Batak and Tagbanua welcome guests to take a glimpse into their daily lives and traditions.
For foodies, Palawan offers the freshest seafood. Culinary options also range from traditional Filipino cuisine to a fusion of local and international flavors.
World’s Best
Along with other top Philippine destinations such as Boracay in Aklan, Mactan in Cebu, and Panglao in Bohol, Palawan has already been shortlisted for the World’s Best Awards 2025.

“This recognition is a testament to Palawan’s extraordinary beauty and the unwavering dedication of our people to delivering exceptional experiences,” added Maria Margarita Montemayor Nograles, Chief Operating Officer of the Tourism Promotions Board.
“We remain committed to preserving and promoting the island’s natural and cultural heritage for generations to come.”
Last month, the Philippines claimed eight wins within Asia at the World Travel Awards 2024. The country’s list of accolades include Asia’s Leading Dive Destination, Asia’s Leading Beach Destination, and Asia’s Leading Island Destination.
