This year’s Art in the Park will be presenting an array of exciting artworks, with sales benefiting the National Museum and its network.
Since its establishment in 2006, Art in the Park has been known for its all around accessibility. It serves as an entry point for artists with great potential, giving them a platform to sell and showcase their works to a larger community. Likewise, it offers collectors—both new and seasoned—an opportunity to expand their collections and discover emerging talents. In 2025, the country’s popular art day out returns on March 23, set against the verdant backdrop of Jaime Velasquez Park in Makati City.

From 10:00 A.M. to 10:00 P.M., art enthusiasts and casual park visitors are invited to immerse themselves in an exciting and diverse showcase of contemporary Filipino art. Like its past editions, Art in the Park 2025 is a fundraiser for the benefit of the National Museum of the Philippines and its network, which work to preserve the country’s rich cultural and artistic heritage.

“The magic of Art in the Park is that it’s the same, every year,” shares co-founder Trickie Lopa with Lifestyle Asia. “The formula is really just a casual day out. Tents are set around the park in a central location in Makati City. You come and find a lot of artwork that you can take a look at and peruse. You’ll hopefully find treasures, something that resonates with you. You know what to expect, and that’s what makes it great.”
Art in the Park 2025 is an amalgamation of the talent that made previous editions memorable, always encouraging organizers like Lopa to spot new visionaries. “Every year, I discover a new artist. I may not necessarily acquire their work, but it’s a chance for me to keep my ear to the ground in terms of knowing what young artists are doing,” she adds. “That’s what keeps me going: I know I’ll definitely find something different and interesting.” This year’s exhibitors include:

Special Exhibitions
As in previous years, the fair organizers have personally selected Filipino artists for this year’s special exhibits, a highlight of the annual fair. Three artists will be featured in Art in the Park 2025: multimedia visual artist TRNZ, contemporary mixed-media artist AR Manalo, and designer and artist Carlo Tanseco.
Manalo is a mixed media artist whose distinctive black-and-white works, often comprising intricate paper cutouts, bring focus to the individuals who form the backbone of our communities, including couriers, street vendors, blue-collar workers, and the like. Yet his recent works also reflect his experiences as a new father, love letters to his young daughter that simultaneously capture her interests and offer sage advice on what it means to live a meaningful life.

TRNZ (ti – ar – ɛn – zi) was introduced to art through locally dubbed Japanese animation airing daily on 90s television, influencing the graphic nature of his work. The visual artist has a penchant for misarrangement, repetition, and subtle anomalies, borrowing the meanings of the tangible and putting them in a place where they’re not supposed to be.

Joining the two talents is visual artist and designer Carlo Tanseco, who will be re-introducing a pivotal work from his critically-acclaimed Rizal Matchbox series, marking the first time in two years that a piece from this collection has been exhibited. Tanseco will also offer several limited-edition giclée prints based on the work.

Manalo and TRNZ both describe their collaboration with Art in the Park as a “full-circle” moment. While this year marks their first time holding a special exhibition for the event, they’ve been participating in it since the early stages of their artistic careers, both of whom expressed how thankful they are for the platform.
“In some ways, Art in the Park paved the way for my art career,” Manalo tells Lifestyle Asia. “It’s a lot less intimidating to be a part of it, or to have the courage to join a participating gallery. Just the sheer experience of being there already gets your foot wet, you get to experience being an artist. The thought of people stopping to look at your works is rewarding in itself, more than the sales.”
“Art in the Park is how I got my first gig in the art scene. It’s the only event that’s very open to young artists, really raw talent—it really gives them a chance,” TRNZ expounds. “It’s easy to get discouraged when you don’t get the exposure. This opportunity really validates what you’re doing and keeps you going with your art practice.”
A Peaceful Art Day Out
Art in the Park is also focused on creating convenient and vibrant experiences for everyone. Visitors will find a wide range of local food and beverage concessionaires to satisfy their cravings, whether it’s a quick refreshment or leisurely meal.
Music from singer-songwriter duo Leanne and Naara will also set the tone for the event, together with an all-vinyl DJ set by Mario Serrano of EST City. Soulful Mood will also provide easy jazz music throughout the day.

Promising a relaxed and accessible environment for art appreciation, Art in the Park 2025 encourages all visitors to enjoy a day filled with art, creativity, and community.
