The Estée Lauder Companies held its Pink Ball 2024 with the aim of raising five million pesos to fund breast cancer research, education, and resources for women in the country.
While many know The Estée Lauder Companies as one of the top leaders in the beauty industry, it has also done its part in helping women everywhere in matters beyond cosmetics and skincare. Since 1993, the group and its charitable foundation have funded more than $131 million to support research, education, and access to medical services for breast cancer globally. Since then, it has become a global movement, bringing waves of change in various countries, including the Philippines. Over the years, the company has managed to raise Php 30 million to support various causes through various programs, including its annual charity dinner, the Pink Ball.

The Pink Ball 2024
Taking place on October 6, the Pink Ball 2024 was for the benefit of the Luke’s Medical Foundation Inc. This year, The Estée Lauder Companies hosted the occasion with the support of Kaye Tinga, Tessa Prieto, Tim Yap, Yaparazzi, One Mega Group, and Shangri-La the Fort.

The event aimed to raise five million pesos and more in order to expand the organization’s programs. This includes reducing the incidence of breast cancer in underserved communities by providing wider access to free breast screening through a mobile clinic.

2024 also marks the 32nd anniversary of the campaign, which made the occasion all the more special. Guests came dressed in their best pink outfits—a color that has come to symbolize the brave fight against the harrowing disease and the movement towards better women’s health, something that started with the recognizable pink ribbon that Evelyn H. Lauder created back in 1992.

In the years since it began fundraising in the Philippines, The Estée Lauder Companies has managed to provide free mammograms to underprivileged women, rehabilitate the East Avenue Medical Center, and grant much-needed bio-hood equipment at the Philippine General Hospital, to name a few.
Raising Awareness, Inciting Change
Besides the Pink Ball, The Estée Lauder Companies also hosted a slew of other meaningful programs and events that aim to further the organization’s goal of spreading awareness on the disease, as well as honor those who’ve experienced it.
The Pink Month Kick-Off
The movement towards a breast cancer-free future began even before the momentous Pink Ball, starting with the Breast Cancer Campaign’s “The Pink Month Kick-Off” — which launched on October 3, 2024 in partnership with SM Supermalls and SM Cares. The event kicked off Pink Month through a press preview at SM Aura, where The Estée Lauder Companies invited breast cancer advocates and medical experts to share their insights and experiences with attendees. Doctors from St. Luke’s Medical Center will also be offering free clinical breast examinations to the public as part of the campaign.

The launch of Pink Month also began with a bright and big statement, one that aims to quite literally ignite hope across the country. In select dates throughout October, a number of participating venues—such as SM Megamall, Uptown BGC, SM Mall of Asia, and Bridgetowne — will be illuminating their key structures to strengthen the message of breast cancer awareness.

Look Good, Feel Good
There was also the “Look Good, Feel Good” event on October 4, 2024, which honored all the women touched by the disease. In a longstanding partnership with Kasuso Foundation and ICanServe Foundation, The Estée Lauder Companies held an event filled with wellness talks and pampering sessions for breast cancer survivors and patient support workers through its team of volunteer employees.
Breast Cancer Campaign Education Roadshow
Then there’s the Breast Cancer Campaign Education Roadshow, the core of Pink Month that aims to raise literacy and awareness on the topic. Throughout the month of October, breast cancer experts will be facilitating educational talks to The Estée Lauder Companies’ employees and partners, emphasizing the importance of early detection.
True to its commitment to building a future where women can live happy, healthy lives, The Estée Lauder Companies continues to let the world know that it’s #TimeToEndBreastCancer.
