Apara Just Opened Their First Flagship Store–And It Feels As Considered As Its Clothes

By

Fashion brand Apara recently opened its first brick-and-mortar store, alongside the launch of its most expansive collection yet.

Apara, a small-batch label founded by childhood friends Nana Uy, Eya Uy, and Ariana Coronel-Go, has spent nearly five years building a following among women who dress with conviction rather than impulse. Twin sisters Nana and Eya work as speech and language pathologists, while Ariana has since expanded into retail through The Kid Edit, a multi-brand kidswear concept. Their shared history and complementary instincts have shaped a brand that feels considered, above anything else. Now, the trio recently opened Apara’s first flagship store in the YMC Building along Chino Roces Extension, Makati.

A Philosophy Of Less

Since December 2021, Apara has operated on a philosophy that resists the noise of trend-driven fashion. The brand designs its restrained silhouettes and honest-weight fabrics with a particular woman in mind, one who wants her wardrobe to work harder, not grow larger. An ease runs through Apara’s aesthetic that recalls the on-the-pulse confidence of European labels like Paloma Wool.

About Collection 14

The founders describe Collection 14, launched alongside the opening of the brand’s first flagship store, as their most expansive to date. New silhouettes sit with reimagined versions of signature pieces, and the palette takes a notably bolder turn. Pops of bright cobalt blue and deep plum thread through a lineup that otherwise stays true to the brand’s more subdued foundations.

Apara revisits wardrobe essentials like their Strapless Dress and Midi Skirt with subtle detailing that invites personal interpretation. Two new footwear styles, a Kitten Heel and a Pointed Toe Mule, complete the offering with the same balance of form and function that defines the clothing. The intention, as it has always been, is longevity. Apara designs its pieces for rotation, not for retirement after a couple of wears.

A New Space For Apara

The founders describe the store as a physical articulation of everything the brand has stood for on paper. “We wanted to open a dedicated space before Apara’s fifth year,” they say. Long-time collaborators and friends of Apara–such as home fragrance brand Saan Saan and jewelry label Pranca–have a presence within the space, granting it a sense of continuity that extends past the garments themselves. It is, in the truest sense, a space with a point of view.
